Typical hyping up of every fart that escapes from the office of the president-elect? I agree it’s obnoxious. These journalists represent the dingleberries of the now-defunct election process and I move that we resolve to ignore them wherever possible.

…’course, every media voice has its slant *wink*

Obama inspires citizenry to take up arms.

On Concerns Over Gun Control, Gun Sales Are Up »New York Times

It’s good to see that the election of Barack Obama has as least helped one sector of the economy. Will he take away our right to bear arms? Many conservative pundits have suggested that the revocation of personal liberties will be slow and systematic and the American people will remain complacent due to the cunning of this new, charismatic demagogue we’ve handed power to. Take heart, these citizens are acting on the mere suggestion of the removal of personal liberty, folks will likely not respond favorably to other such policy as well.

Yeah, I’ve heard that ammo sales are also rocketing. Too bad 6 years of war have driven the price up too.

Reasonably, gun control legislation will likely not come for two to three years, considering the breadth of domestic policy on the upcoming docket. Also, the supreme court has recently upheld the second amendment fairly staunchly, as I recall, and considering it will remain conservative for several more years, there is little chance that major anti-gun legislation will come down the pike any time soon. However, it would probably need to come to light within the next two years, since the house and Senate will undoubtedly swing more toward the red in the midterm elections, so that might still be something to consider.

Regardless, hording legally acquired guns wouldn’t make much difference anyway, since legislation would likely demand their return when passed. I recommend stowing several .22 caliber weapons of various designs along with plenty of ammunition out of the eye of the government, just in case. There are several reasons why this might be a good idea. 1) .22 caliber ammunition is abundant and can be interchangeable between various models of handguns and rifles. 2) it packs enough of a punch to take down most game (if used properly) as well as stop a human. 3) it is unlikely the government would be able to track down all the weapons of this type, so it would be likely these guns could remain hidden and still useful for a long time.

remember to bury them packed in oil to avoid rust, along with all the cleaning tools and ammunition you think you might need to defend yourself in the event of hostile government action. bullet-making equipment might seem like a good idea, but in reality, it is unlikely you would survive long enough to fire more than a few thousand rounds at the socialist invaders anyway.

    Mr. Obama wins the Whitehouse.

Obama Sweeps to Historic Victory >The Wall Street Journal

And so it is, dear friends. Hold on tight. We’re in for a long, tedious ride. Listen carefully to what The Bruce tells you now: do not turn your back, but educate yourself. As Barack Obama blunders about the Oval Office take time to notice his foolish, liberal policy. Teach your fellow Americans the merit of individual liberty and conservatism, and take heart. Freedom will be won again.

ACORN sows the seeds of success.

Many of you may recall the original $700 billion bailout package that handed large sums of money to ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform. For The Bruce, this vile, liberal outfit is a sore spot for committing large scale voter fraud in the 2004 gubernatorial election in his state, one in which the liberal candidate won – after losing the first tally and one recount – then winning the third and final count – by 129 votes. I am told these illegal votes were all caught, but when the margin is so slim, who can say that for sure?

Today, there are accusations in nearly all the swing states that ACORN is up to it’s old tricks. Barrack Obama has a narrow rope to walk if he is to make it to the oval office. His past associations with ACORN, home spun terrorist Bill Ayers, and his past record of voting against legislation aimed at tightening up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lending practices. Perhaps we the people will choose to overlook these fairly substantial issues and Mr. Obama’s lack of executive experience so long as he continues to dress nicely, speak eloquently, and lets his henchman take care of these things behind the scenes.

The ACORN story continues to develop, as does the effect of Obama’s ties to the fall of Fannie and Freddie. Read more about it here, and here.

Obama campaign criticized for dishonest ad

A recent, Obama-endorsed ad has drawn a great deal of criticism for both dishonesty when it comes to John McCain’s stance on immigration, and misconstruing a quote by Rush Limbaugh.

The Bruce thinks that Obama is cleverly attempting to open a discussion on McCain’s actual stance on immigration, which has often not aligned with the conservative base.

What Obama fails to grasp is that conservatives are well aware of McCain’s liberal record and that right wingers are  in fact consciously choosing to let it slide due to his choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate.

In all fairness, Obama is not winning the 2-way competition for most scathing TV advert.
