Billions See Hope in New Research

with one comment

A RECENT study published in the journal Nature outlines new brain research from University of California, Berkeley. Through the use of MRI, researchers were able to monitor neural activity and correctly identify which of over 1,200 images subjects were viewing. While the current method can only identify which image an individual is viewing ninety percent of the time, and cannot yet render images directly from the brain, these new findings may ultimately lead to machines that can read minds.

This news is viewed as a “giant leap for man” who has for millions of years been relying on subjective, inconsistent, visual and verbal cues to determine precisely what the opposite sex is thinking.

Experts: Oil too fat, needs to lose weight

with 2 comments

Obesity as a health problem has already swept through the American population, wrecking havoc and destroying good looks. Now, says one analyst, it may be making its debut into the energy world.

“The crude market is morbidly obese,” said Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at Oil Price Information Service, who warned that the fatness is set to continue.

Experts say crude oil’s massive weight problem could soon threaten neighbors, like gasoline.

“When that baby goes, she’s gonna spill all over the Gasolines’,” said one market observer, “We’re talkin’ Staypuft-marshmallow-man-in-Ghostbusters-style goop, here.”

Energy prices have repeatedly set new records over the past six months.
